Mum's new home - A room with a view on the hill

Never could we imagine our mother at her age of 92 involve so joyously in this new home for the aged situated at the top of Wheelers Hill,  a caring community which is just 3 minutes away from my sisters' homes.

The entrance

Sofa at the door is where mum likes to hang around with her home-mate Mrs Lam, approaching 90, is the only lady speaks mum's language - Cantonese here in this house.

Looking out......
Turn right to my eldest sister's house, turn left to my youngest sister's house.

At the sitting room where mum joins the every day activities at 2:30 pm.

Jessica's clever method to remind staff of ways to make mum's life happier.

A 46" TV and a big clock on the opposite wall.

At a luncheon after we visited dad's graveyard on Saturday, we taught mum to speak some simple words with the help of Chinese transliteration, say, spoon as " 士搬 ", fork as "霍(高音)". I wrote the words on a piece of tissue paper with Nancy's illustrations.  Mum quickly put the "notes" into her purse after several drills.

Mum is blessed, so are we.
